Within our purpose-built Physical Laboratory, we build, and test, scale models of marine structures and we have been doing this successfully for the last 75 years. 

We are recruiting for an Instrumentation Engineer to join our Physical Modelling team.  The role will be responsible for providing instrumentation support and advise to our project staff.  You will also be involved in the deployment, set up and recovery of instrumentation on physical models and internal calibration of instrumentation. You will maintain the asset management system and stock control, as well having daily communication with project staff to undertake fault finding and participate in problem solving should it arise.

Key qualifications and skills

Essential

  • BEng / HND in in an Electrical / Electronic / Instrumentation /scientific discipline 
  • The ability interpret data and metrics
  • Three years of relevant industry experience 
  • Practical mechanical assembly or electrical skills: soldering, wiring and assembly
  • Ability to read circuit diagrams and electrical drawings

Desirable

  • BS7671 18th Edition wiring regs
  • Control systems experience – Beckhoff/siemens PLC
  • H&S qualifications
  • Competent knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel)
